Texas Motorcycle Accidents: By the Numbers

Motorcycle accidents on average are far more dangerous than other types of crashes. Out of all car accidents in Texas in 2022, just over half of one percent resulted in a fatality. In comparison, roughly 7% of all motorcycle accidents caused a death. That means that motorcycle accidents in Texas are about ten times deadlier than the average Texas car crash. In total, there were 8,577 motorcycles involved in accidents in 2022, with 575 of those motorcycles being involved in deadly crashes.

When it comes to where motorcycle accidents are happening, far more motorcycle crashes in 2022 occurred in urban areas than in rural areas, with more than twice as many motorcycles being involved in crashes in cities.
